A Word from Josh: Playing here last year was one of the most pleasant surprises of 2015. We returned this year expecting another packed pavilion and that's what we got. The show went well. There was one significant technical problem, but that took place and was fixed several hours before the show started. The suspension on the large trailer that hauls all the sound & light production broke. Fortunately we were able to get a quick repair done courtesy of Midstates Trailer Distributing of nearby Sullivan. Much thanks to them for saving our asses. As I already mentioned, the show was good and the crowd was great. As we did last night, we invited people up on stage to play cowbell during "Walk This Way". This time we selected the people by randomly throwing ping pong balls into the audience. We felt the need to do this because apparently last night some people questioned our process for picking the volunteers and actually accused us of picking people based on sexual favors!... Ew! Anyway, unlike last night, tonight's cowbell choir suffered from a serious lack of rhythm. Yeah, they did a horrible job trying to keep the beat. But that's OK. Whether they play right on the money or so bad it hurts, it seems to be entertaining either way. What do you think? -Josh Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it? Johanne (light guy): "Huge shoutout to Jason of Midstates Trailer Distributing of Sullivan, WI for making some really fast repairs of a broken leaf spring on our production trailer on the way out to the gig. He saved the weekend by squeezing us in his busy schedule." Cassandra: "Such amazing talent!! Had so much fun at Derby Days watching y'all play!" |
